Kiera O'Rourke

Raised in Miami, and a graduate of New World school of the Arts, Kiera wants to continue fighting for racial and economic justice in her community. After graduating from Stanford University with a double major in History and Comparative Literature, she moved to Nicaragua where she used Community Based Participatory Research initiatives to help improve maternal heath outcomes. She has also worked with the Innocence Clinic at University of Miami, and will spend five weeks with the Miami Public Defender this summer. Her interests in the law include criminal defense, crimmigration, equity in education, and economic justice, and she is interested in lawyering models that address the intersections between these areas of the law.
